Anthony da Costa at Lemon Lounge. Though he recently moved to Nashville to pursue budding opportunities — he’s now the touring guitarist in renowned singer-songwriter Aoife O’Donovan’s band — Anthony da Costa was among the many talented musicians who helped make South Austin venue Strange Brew a thriving creative community during his years here. He was scheduled to play that venue on Monday before recent financial troubles resulted in the club closing its doors (at least temporarily, perhaps permanently). Lemon Lounge, a new east side venue that just opened last weekend, has stepped up to give da Costa and his three-piece local backing band a venue for the show. $6. 8 p.m. 908 E. Fifth St. facebook.com/lemonatx.

Wednesday: Don Walser tribute at Broken Spoke. The “Pavarotti of the Plains” passed on 10 years ago last September, but many of his longtime Pure Texas Band mates and other fellow musicians have been gathering at the Broken Spoke every January for the past seven years to make sure that Walser is remembered. Among those taking part are Howard Kalish, Skinny Don Keeling, Scott Walls, Jason Roberts, Slaid Cleaves, Cornell Hurd, Paul Glasse and Floyd Domino. $10. 8:15 p.m. 3201 S. Lamar Blvd. brokenspokeaustintx.net.

Wednesday: Seela record release at Cactus Cafe. Frequently seen on Austin stages as a backing vocalist for artists including Matt the Electrician and Jaimee Harris, Seela also writes and plays her own songs, and she’s celebrating the release of her latest disc, “Track You Down,” at this show. Co-produced by Anthony da Costa and featuring appearances by renowned local instrumentalists Jeff Plankenhorn and Scrappy Jud Newcomb among others, the album is an exquisite collection of acoustic-based folk-pop music with lyrics that steer into gospel territory. Larry Seaman opens. $10. 7:30 p.m. 2247 Guadalupe St. cactuscafe.org.
