Saturday: Dawes at Stubb’s outdoor. The Los Angeles indie/Americana/pop band’s current tour is billed as “An Evening With Dawes,” which is industry code for “no opening act.” That’s good for the band’s ardent fans, who’ll get to hear two sets from the group. That should allow them not only to feature their new album, “We’re All Gonna Die,” but also to dig back into the four back-catalog albums that helped win them a devoted following in the first place. $25. 7 p.m. doors. (A $5 after-show on the indoor stage features local alt-country group Harvest Thieves.) 801 Red River St. stubbsaustin.com. — P.B.

Saturday: “Unplug This” 20th Anniversary at Hole in the Wall. The four-decades-plus history of Hole in the Wall has about a million little side-chapters, and one of them was “Unplug This,” a Monday night series in the mid-late 1990s that spurred many of Austin’s rock acts at the time to go acoustic for an evening. An “Unplug This” compilation disc documented the sound and spirit of the series, and many of the participants are gathering to celebrate the record’s 20th anniversary: Mike Nicolai, Wheel, Rice Moorehead, Andrew Duplantis, Michael Fracasso, Beaver Nelson, Larry Seaman, Pam Peltz, Brit Jones, Kevin Carney and Matt Harmon. Free. 9:30 p.m. 2538 Guadalupe St. holeinthewallaustin.com. — P.B.

Saturday: Cut Chemist at Empire. The critically acclaimed turntablist helped shape the sound of L.A.’s indie rap scene in the ’90s, working with Jurassic 5 in their early days and contributing to the L.A. Chicano collective Ozomatli. He’ll be putting down a special all-vinyl set for the wax fanatic in all of us. $15. 7:30 p.m. doors. 606 E. Seventh St. empireatx.com — D.S.S.
