Keep the Home Fires Burning: Fewer touring acts are coming through town as we head into the holiday season, but it’s a great time to check out some of the best acts Austin has to offer. A few highlights: Mondays at the Hole in the Wall are special this month with rising stars Carson McHone (9 p.m.), Ben Ballinger (10 p.m. and Greg Loftus (11 p.m.) laying for ree the front room (plus Roger Wallace and Dylan Karn playing early). Tuesday offers another chance to catch McHone (8 p.m., $5), this time with Cale Tyson (10 p.m., $5) and Leo Rondeau (11 p.m., $5) at the Saxon Pub (come early for guitarist David Grissom‘s no-cover 6 p.m. happy hour gig). Wednesday, dance-pop sensation Max Frost headlines at 3Ten with Sinclair (8 p.m. doors, $15). And as always on Thanksgiving night, Dale Watson & His Lone Stars can be found at the Continental Club (10:15 p.m., $10).
