SXSW side parties. It’s Saturday, which means afternoon action is heating up on day two of South by Southwest Interactive. Some of the parties have nothing to do with the fest itself, and some of them continue into the evening, but regardless, here’s a few of the options: UniversityHype hosts more than a dozen acts at Spider House Ballroom starting at noon; ATX Wildfire continues at Flamingo Cantina with a noon show featuring BLXPLTN, the Expanders and more; Hotel Vegas’ SX Soundcheck also starts at noon and includes performances by John Wesley Coleman, Ramesh and others on two stagest; the Southboiled Crawfish Boil at Empire Control Room features Rattletree, Casual Strangers and more beginning at 1 p.m.; Whip In rocks out with G.O.A.T. Fest, starting at 1 p.m. and featuring more than 10 acts; and the annual Yeast By Sweet Beast Fest spreads out to two venues on its second day, with more than 20 punk bands playing events starting at 4 p.m. at Dozen Street and the Big Easy Bar & Grill. Perhaps the biggest unofficial night show is at Antone’s, where the Capital One House features Common, DJ Premier, Los Coast and Manny. As always, check venue websites and presenters’ event pages for details on how to get in.
