Friday-Sunday: Euphoria Festival at Carson Creek Ranch. Bumping a few hip-hop artists up into headline spots this year, the dance music fest that’s been steadily growing on the far east side of town presents a diverse and well-curated selection of sounds to make you move and groove. Hip-hop oriented electronic composer Pretty Lights, performing with a live band, leads a stacked Friday lineup that also includes jam band the Disco Biscuits and Parisian soulful house specialist French Kiwi Juice. On Saturday, Swedish EDM artist Alesso meets gender-bending trap romantic Young Thug on a bill that mixes in Dutch DJ Oliver Heldens and rapper Post Malone. Sunday closes strong with electro dance duo Chromeo, blunt-lovin’ rapper Wiz Khalifa, electro duo Zeds Dead and early dance music innovator Moby. $79 daily, $199 3-day (advance). Friday: Guy Clark tribute at Paramount Theatre. Back in November, on the day the late, great Guy Clark would have turned 75, the Paramount hosted a music and interview session with his biographer, Tamara Saviano, during the Texas Book Festival. This show, presented by the Texas Heritage Songwriters’ Association, expands on that theme, with performances from a first-class lineup of Clark’s friends and disciples including Rodney Crowell, Joe Ely, Bruce Robison, Lee Roy Parnell, Jack Ingram, Verlon Thompson, Terry Allen, Shawn Camp, the Trishas, Brennen Leigh and Noel McKay. Saviano will be on hand again, too, receiving the THSA’s Darrell K. Royal Texas Music Legend Award. $45-$95. 7:30 p.m. 713 Congress Ave.austintheatre.org. Friday: KUTX Free Family Concerts at Mueller Lake Park with Leopold & His Fiction.It’s outdoor music season, and if you’re looking to introduce your little rockers to Austin’s live music scene, this KUTX series has you covered. The evening’s entertainment kicks off at 7 p.m. with a set from self-described “kindie” band the Que Pastas, hosted by the station’s kid’s show, “Spare the Rock, Spoil the Child.” Then Austin’s NPR affiliate turns it up to 11 with the high octane rock ‘n’ roll of Leopold and His Fiction. Picnics and blankets are fine, but no chairs, alcohol or glass containers are allowed in the park. Saturday: Darden Smith record release at Stateside at the Paramount.When Darden Smith puts a band together to make a record, like he did for his new “Everything,” he doesn’t mess around. Holed up at Arlyn Studios last month, he brought aboard a cast full of aces: bassist Roscoe Beck (Leonard Cohen), drummer JJ Johnson (Tedeschi Trucks Band), keyboardist Michael Ramos (Patty Griffin), guitarist Charlie Sexton (Bob Dylan) and multi-instrumentalist David Mansfield (too many to mention). It’s a testament to the respect in-demand musicians have for Smith that they all answered the call. Beck joins him on acoustic bass for this release show, along with drummer Alex Marrero and guitarist David Goodich. $20-$30. 8 p.m. 719 Congress Ave.austintheatre.org.— P.B.
Sunday: 10,000 Maniacs at 3Ten.When guitarist John Lombardo left upstate New York band 10,000 Maniacs just before they hit it big in 1987 and formed the duo John & Mary with Buffalo violinist Mary Ramsey, no one realized Lombardo was sowing the seeds of the group’s long-term survival. John & Mary opened for 10,000 Maniacs on a 1990 tour, during which co-founding singer and songwriter Natalie Merchant grew fond of Ramsey’s singing and fiddling. When Merchant left for solo stardom in the mid-’90s, the void was quite logically filled by Ramsey. Guitarist Rob Buck died in 2000, but the rest of the band has hung together. New records have been scarce, and the live shows still lean heavily on the Merchant-era material. But for fans who still hold those songs dear, Ramsey fills the vocal role with grace and sincerity. $49.50. 7 p.m. 310 Willie Nelson Blvd.3tenaustin.com. — P.B.
