Tuesday: Tribute to Gregg Allman with Tom Gillam & the Kosmic Messengers and friends at Gruene Hall. Gillam, an Austin musician and host of the Americana Morning Show on weekdays on New Braunfels radio station KNBT, held the music of the Allman Brothers dear. So when Gregg Allman died on Sunday, he decided to turn his scheduled Tuesday show at the legendary dance hall into tribute show. Free. 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. 1281 Gruene Road, New Braunfels. gruenehall.com. — P.B.

Wednesday: Jethro Tull at ACL Live. Technically these shows are billed as “Jethro Tull by Ian Anderson,” an odd specification given that Jethro Tull, by any other name than Ian Anderson, would most assuredly not be Jethro Tull. Technically, the band called it quits five years ago, and longtime members Martin Barre and Doane Perry aren’t along here, but the lineup does include latter-days members David Goodier and John O’Hara. Anyway, it’s vocalist/flautist Anderson at the center, and he’ll be playing “a collection of best-known Tull classics with a few rarely-played pieces,” according to the tour announcement. $79-$110. 8 p.m. 310 Willie Nelson Blvd. acl-live.com. — P.B.

Thursday: North Mississippi Allstars at Antone’s. As their name implies, the down-home Southern roots-rock band fronted by brothers Luther and Cody Dickinson hails from Mississippi. But perhaps because of their fondness for old-school blues music, they’ve chosen to celebrate the June 2 release of “Prayer for Peace,” their new album on Sony/Legacy, at Austin’s home of the blues. Thursday begins a three-night stand at the club, with Uncle Lucius opening the first show, Jackie Venson the second and Elijah Ford the third. $25-$30 (three-night pass $40). 9 p.m. 305 E. Fifth St. antonesnightclub.com. (The band also plays a free Waterloo Records in-store at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 2.) — P.B.

Thursday: Jesse Dalton & Roger Sellers, Brittany Haas & Jordan Tice at ABGB. The ties between Dalton and Sellers mark the intriguing spot where Austin’s roots and electronica scenes meet. Sellers creates trippy soundscapes under the name Bayonne, while Dalton is best-known for thumping upright bass with prog-bluegrassers MilkDrive and indie-folk group the Deer. Other members of the latter band will join them for this gig, which features a ringer of an opening act in the Nashville/Brooklyn string-band duo of Haas and Tice, whose credits include work with Crooked Still and the Duhks, respectively. It’s a rare non-free show at ABGB, but the level of talent and the creativity of the booking is well worth the modest cover charge. $8-$10. 9 p.m. 1305 W. Oltorf St. theabgb.com. — P.B.
