Explosions in the Sky at the Paramount. The top-notch, Austin-based post-rock outfit drops “The Wilderness,” the band’s first new album in five years, on April 1 and they celebrate with two shows at the Paramount Theatre. The atmospheric soundscape masters have stayed busy in the half decade since “Take Care, Take Care, Take Care” was released. They soundtracked three films and have been touring the globe. Bolstering the band’s already impressive international profile, they leave next month for a tour of the U.K. and Ireland that includes a stop at Manchester’s vaunted Royal Albert Hall. After that they hit the road for an extensive U.S. and European tour. The 8 p.m. show sold out swiftly, but at press time $40 tickets were still available for the 2 p.m. matinee. 713 Congress Ave. austintheatre.org. — D.S.S.
