Friday: Kelly Willis & Bruce Robison, Dale Watson & Ray Benson at ACL Live. If Wimbledon had an Austin country music equivalent, this would be like the doubles final. Watson & Benson were already honky-tonk and western swing title holders in their own right before they teamed up this year for their “Dale & Ray” duo album. Husband-wife Robison and Willis have been mixed-doubles champs for a while now, releasing two records together before Robison’s recent release with his Back Porch Band. Friday: Milligan Vaughan Project at Antone’s. It’s convenient that the initials work out to MVP, but this new pairing of soulful vocalist Malford Milligan and guitarist Tyrone Vaughan would have been a fine idea no matter the name. Vaughan, following in the footsteps of his blues-legend father Jimmie, recently spent a couple of years with Cyril Neville’s group Royal Southern Brotherhood. Milligan, renowned for his work with local bands Storyville, Big Cat and Stick People, has long been one of the city’s most distinctive singers. Saturday: Solstice Fest at Pan Am Park. After two nights of precursor shows in a handful of Red River District venues, Solstice Fest hits full gear in this east side park with headlining sets from out-of-towners JJ Grey & Mofro, the indie-swamp-rockers from Florida, and Built to Spill, proto-indie-rockers from the Northwest. The big-name local on the bill is psych-rock outfit Bright Light Social Hour, but there’s lot’s more, including early main-stage sets by Los Coast, Sweet Crude and the Halfways, plus a second stages featuring Golden Dawn Arkestra, Radio Moscow, Capyac, Mobley, Hunter Sharpe and Slomo Drags. $35. 11 am. doors; full schedule at solsticeatx.com. 2100 E. Saturday: Fasten Fest at Fair Market. The big ride-hailing news of the month was the state legislature-mandated return of Uber and Lyft to Austin. But Fasten, one of the companies that established a foothold here when the transportation giants left town last year, is celebrating a year in Austin with a free party that also includes free brunch and free booze. The music lineup includes out-of-towners Beach Fossils, El Rancho and DJ Justin Martin, as well as locals Quiet Company, the Nightowls and Mama K & the Shades. According to the event’s Facebook page, doors open at 11 a.m., free brunch runs until 2 p.m. and free drinks go until 5 p.m. with the music stopping at 1 a.m. 1100 E. Fifth St. — D.S.S.

Saturday: Chicago, Doobie Brothers at Austin360 Amphitheater. These classic-rock hitmakers from the 1970s fit well together on a double bill, in part because both have soldiered on without their most identifiable vocalist. (Chicago’s Peter Cetera played a solo show in April at the Paramount; the Doobies’ Michael McDonald has played here on his own several times in recent years.)
