Monday: John Ginty at Antone’s. If you’re a fan of Americana artists and/or jam bands, you’ve probably heard Ginty wailing away on keyboards either onstage or on record. Ginty got his start playing with singer-songwriter Neal Casal in the 1990s and soon was appearing on records by the likes of Whiskeytown and Matthew Sweet. After joining sacred steel guitar great Robert Randolph’s Family Band in 2000, he became well-known on the jam circuit for his Hammond B3 playing. Tuesday: Larry Gatlin, David Grissom at Saxon Pub. In Austin, we’re used to getting free shows by world-class talent at local night spots, but this is ridiculous. Or perhaps sublime if you’re a fan of Texas country stars Larry Gatlin & the Gatlin Brothers, who racked up dozens of hits in the 1970s and ’80s. Their leader is playing the Saxon and not charging admission simply because he’s a “good friend just having some fun,” Saxon owner Joe Ables says. It’s a given that you’ll probably need to get there early — but that’s not a bad idea on any Tuesday at the Saxon, where Austin guitar ace David Grissom holds down a weekly happy-hour residency. 8 p.m. Gatlin, 6 p.m. Grissom. 1320 S. Thursday: Logic, Joey Bada$$, Big Lenbo at Austin360 Amphitheater. Rapper Logic has been slowly becoming one of the hottest new voices in hip-hop. He handily sold out a Stubb’s show last year, and this go-round he’s jumped up to the big stage. His latest album, “Everybody,” which dropped in early May, is a dense collection that centers on his struggle to reconcile the various facets of his multiracial identity in the midst of the social and political turmoil of America in 2017. Also on this bill is Pro-Era rapper Joey Bada$$, who created waves with the starkly political “All Amerikkkan Bada$$” earlier this year.
