Friday: Little Big Town, Kacey Musgraves, Midland at Erwin Center. Nashville-via-Alabama band Little Big Town, whose 2017 album “The Breaker” was their third country chart-topper, is the headliner here, but for the Austin show, there’s extra focus on the two Texas-centric opening acts. Musgraves, born and raised in East Texas, lived in Austin for a short time before her career took off with two acclaimed solo albums in 2013 and 2015. Midland, formed in Wyoming and incubated in Los Angeles, moved to Dripping Springs shortly before the release of their recent breakthrough album “On the Rocks.” The single “Drinkin’ Problem” earned them two Grammy nominations; they didn’t win, but the annual Nashville Scene Country Music Critics’ Poll voted the song Best Single of 2017 and pegged the trio as country music’s best new act of last year. $30.50-$57.50. 7:30 p.m. 1701 Red River St. uterwincenter.com. — P.B.

Friday: United: A Black History Month Celebration at Sahara Lounge. “The power of solidarity and community under one common groove” is the guiding mission for this party, the third annual United event organized by local house music aficionado DJ Shani. The lineup features four black female DJs. Alongside Shani spinning deep house, Afro house and boogie, DJ Kay Cali will drop hip-hop, funk and R&B, DJ I Wanna Be Her will spin old school hip-hop and funk and Chicago’s DJ Lady D will fly in to serve up Chicago House. “We maintain that our story did not begin with slavery, but with our families, traditions, cultures and music,” Shani says. $5-$10. 9 p.m. doors. 1413 Webberville Road. saharalounge.com. — D.S.S.

Saturday: Delbert McClinton at Paramount Theatre. At 77, Lubbock-born and Fort Worth-raised McClinton is now a revered elder statesman of what has come to be known as Americana music. His golden years have been some of his most productive: Since the turn of the century, he’s released six studio albums — including last year’s acclaimed “Prick of the Litter” — that have attracted younger fans who weren’t around for his run with several major labels in the 1970s and ’80s. In December, Texas A&M Press published “One of the Fortunate Few,” writer Diana Finlay Hendricks’ biography of McClinton. Saturday: Wild Child album release at Empire. Seven years spent charming audiences around the world with their indie-folk-pop has done nothing to diminish Wild Child’s love for their home state. “We owe all we have to everyone that has supported us since our humble beginning gigging around the state in our little red van back in 2011,” the band writes on their Facebook page. To give back to their local fans, they’ve made the release party for their new album free. “Expectations,” an ambitious platter that mixes lush indie pop, introspective folk and edgy orchestral rock, drops on Friday. Saturday: Jerry David DeCicca album release at Beerland. Formerly of the Ohio indie band Black Swans, songwriter and record producer DeCicca moved to the Texas Hill Country a few years ago, and the rural geography seems to have influenced his music. His new album “Time the Teacher” is built on minimal guitar, piano and acoustic bass foundations, with DeCicca’s plainspoken vocals drifting serenely above them. London-based co-producers Jeb Loy Nichols and Benedic Lamdin added flourishes of choral voices and brass/wind instruments here and there, deepening the meditative moods of these 10 tracks.
