Brooklyn post-punk crew Parquet Courts was already riding high on one of the strongest indie rock releases of the year, “Human Performance,” when they used their appearance on “Late Night with Stephen Colbert” last month to remind us they have plenty of tricks up their sleeve. They brought out Texas rap legend Bun B. to spit a verse on their “drive-by lullaby” “Captive of the Sun.” We expect their Mohawk show will have a least a few fun surprises, too. These days, the queen of ’90s ska pop is in the news less for her music and more for her personal exploits, including a messy divorce with a scandalous nanny backstory and recent canoodling with Blake Shelton, her co-star on NBC show “the Voice.” But she released her first solo album in a decade this year, an enjoyable, if not outstanding, collection of bubbly love songs and heartbreak clap backs. If you’re only in it for the nostalgia, don’t fret. Hard Working Americans at Scoot Inn. Begun as a supergroup mainly playing covers, this outfit featuring prankster-songwriter Todd Snider, Widespread Panic bassist Dave Schools and Chris Robinson Brotherhood guitarist Neal Casal went all serious on us with their second album, “Rest in Chaos,” which features almost all original material. They chose wisely on their one cover: It’s Guy Clark’s “The High Price of Inspiration,” from the late Texas legend’s 2013 swan song “My Favorite Picture of You.” Recent New West Records signee Aaron Lee Tasjan opens. $25-$30. 7 p.m. doors. 1308 E.
