Friday: Diez Y Seis parties at Empire and 3Ten. Looking to celebrate Mexican Independence Day with sounds from Austin’s rich Latino music scene? Party rocking DJ collective Peligrosa hosts a hip-moving throwdown over at Empire Control Room with a packed lineup of musical guests including Mexican artists Nina Dioz, Sotomayor and El Disque. On the west side of Downtown Austin, Selena tribute band Bidi Bidi Banda plays at 3Ten. In addition to honoring the Tejano queen, the band will be joined by special guests to play the music of Juan Gabriel, Ramon Ayala and Vicente Fernandez. 3Ten ends at 11 p.m. and Empire goes late, so it is logistically possible to catch both events. Saturday: Dan Deacon and Cherubs at the Mohawk. Baltimore producer Deacon mixes flurries of staccato electronics to produce ebullient rushes of emotion. His latest single “Change Your Life” is a frenetic adrenaline-builder that speaks to the latent dream chaser in all of us. Saturday-Sunday: Voyager Music Festival at Spider House Ballroom. Are you so intrigued with experimental and progressive music that you’d attend interactive workshops with titles such as “How to Build a Robot Drummer” and “Theremin: History and Performance Technique”? If so, this two-day event is right up your alley. Sunday: Yacht Rock Revival at ACL Live. You don’t have to own a yacht to be stuck in a loop of 1970s radio nostalgia. If that’s your particular cup of Ambrosia — yes, two of their members will play a set of the band’s songs as part of this show — you’ll probably want to hop aboard this landlocked cruise. The main attraction is the Yacht Rock Revue, an ensemble that includes Robbie “Steal Away” Dupree and Matthew “Break My Stride” Wilder as well as members of “Baby Come Back” Player.
